Rails Wheels' Privacy Policy
What we store
Financial data associated with your account, along with your account name/alias and ABN (if applicable), are retained by Rails Wheels indefinitely. Other than statistical information, all other account data, including package listings, are destroyed by Rails Wheels three months after you delete that data from your account, or if your account is closed.
Your account password is stored by Rails Wheels in an irreversibly-hashed form.
When you log-in to your Rails Wheels account, Rails Wheels will store a cookie on the browser being used that will keep that browser logged-in for ten days, unless you remove this cookie either manually or by clicking the "Logout" link.
What we use
Rails Wheels may make use of statistical data, unrelated to any individual browser or account, to improve its service.
Rails Wheels uses the email addresses attached to your account to inform you of important information about the operation of your account, and to deliver requested package update, search, and ticket notifications.
Registered administrators of packages you have deployed are able to send you emails, but your email address is not disclosed. Your registered support email address, or your main account email address if a vaild support email address has not been provided, is used to foward support tickets, again without disclosing the address.
What we share
Package information that you have requested to have listed in Rails Wheels package search engine is made available to all search engine users. This information may be returned in search results for a short time after you indicate that you no longer wish your entity to be listed.
The following information you submit about your websites is able to be viewed at railswheels.com/check: a site's registered live date, a site's registered type, a site's registered employee count (displayed as either one of the ranges <5, 6-20, 21-100, 101-500, or 501+, or as "Undisclosed" if zero has been entered), and a site's number of registered Rails Wheels deployments.
If you are registered as a contributor to a package, other contributors to that package are able to view the primary email address associated with your Rails Wheels account.
Rails Wheels users who have been designated as administrators of a package are able to view a list of deployments of that package, including the domain name, live deployment date, and licence status.
Rails Wheels provides information on your use of its services to government authorities if it is required to do so by law.
What we show
Your username and password on log-in, and all account-related data, is transmitted between Rails Wheels and your browser in encrypted form. However, if your browser supports it, the web pages you view will be cached on your computer's disk, including pages that have been securely transmitted. If you do not want your account data to be seen by other users of your computer & browser, disable your browser's disk cache while operating your account.
Your account password is never displayed on the RailsWheels.com site, in emails, or via any other means.
